WOOF :: truncate_basic( String $text, Integer $max_length, String $trailing )

Returns:

A basic string truncation function that chops the String argument to the specified length, adding a trailing string at the end only if the string is longer than the specified max length.

Example:

Parameters:

  • String $text

    The text to truncate

  • Integer $max_length

    The length the text must exceed before truncation will take place (in characters)

  • String $trailing

    The continuation string to add if the text exceeds the specified maximum length

Plugin Requirements

MasterPress requires a minimum of WordPress version 4.9, MySQL 5.6, and PHP version 5.6.20.

We also recommend that PHP is configured to use a memory limit of 64MB per request (128MB may be required for sites with higher complexity).

This plug-in is not compatible with the WordPress.com hosted service.
